Helichrysum: The Golden Healer, Anna Bazarnaya

The aromatic Helichrysum is a true healer of the plant kingdom, healing both, our external physical and internal deep emotional wounds and broken heart. The plant’s name comes from the Greek words helios (meaning “sun”) and chrysos (meaning “gold”) and had been praised by cultures, old and new, for its notorious therapeutic abilities and vast array of uses in the cultural and medicinal realms. There are over 600 different species of this plant and it’s known by many names, such as Everlasting, Immortelle, or the Curry Plant.

Most helichrysum species, true to their name, contain small, bright yellow, dense clusters of blossoms on top of tall, slender stalks. Interestingly, these plants have in common that their ‘flowers’ do not actually contain petals. Rather, the flower is composed of a single seed head with “shiny, translucent, dry bracts” that extend beyond and provide the appearance of flower petals. This characteristic is what allows the ‘flowers’ to remain everlasting, without fading or losing their golden luster over time.

According to researchers in Washington using Tainio Technology the vibrational frequency of essential oils is the highest of any natural substance known to man. Through the principle of entrainment, the oil’s higher frequency will raise the vibratory quality of that individual that uses it.

The electrical and magnetic fields of the human body are complex and dynamicand are associated with dynamical processes such as heart and brain function, blood and lymph flow, ion transport across cell membranes, and many other biologic processes on many different scales.

The frequency of the human brain is 72-90 MHz. A healthy body, from head to foot, typically has a frequency ranging from 62 to 78 MHz, while disease begins at 57 MHz.Pure grade essential oils range in frequency from 52 to 580 MHz (latest finding with Idaho Blue Spruce), with the spiritual oils being over 90 MHz.

Helichrysum is called The Oil of Pain, its frequency is 181 MHz.

Daniel Macdonald in his book “Emotional Healing with Essential Oils” writes that Helichrysum removes pain quickly and effortlessly. It aids “the walking wounded” – those with a history of difficult life circumstances, trauma, addiction, loss or abuse. These individuals need the powerful spiritual support that Helichrysum offers. It gives strength and endurance to the wounded soul who must keep on living, despite past difficulties. This oil restores confidence in life and in the Self, giving the individual strength to “make it.” Helichrysum has a powerful relationship with the light of the sun. It imbues joy, fervor and hope for living.

Helichrysum takes the wounded soul by the hand, guiding them through life’s difficulties. If the wounded individual can persevere, this oil can take them into new heights of spiritual consciousness. Helichrysum offers hope that their wounds can be healed.

Following this spiritual healing and transformation, Helichrysum can teach an individual to have gratitude for their trials. It helps one to see that if they had not been wounded, they would not have sought healing that resulted in a spiritual rebirth. Just as the phoenix dies and is raised from its ashes, so might an individual be raised from their turmoil. It lends its warrior spirit so that one may face their trials. Just as the phoenix dies and is raised from its ashes, so might an individual be raised from their turmoil. Helichrysum lends its warrior spirit so that one may face their adversities with courage and determination. It brings hope to the most discouraged of souls and life to those in need of rebirth.

The essential oil of Helichrysum is a luxury necessity in the medicine cabinet as its myriad of therapeutic uses includes healing superficial wounds, soothing burns, chapped and irritated skin, swelling, muscle aches, sprains, strains, bruises; aiding in scar tissue formation; and regenerating skin and nerves.

These bright little flowers are named for the sun and will help you to shine!

Helichrysum also has significant therapeutic and spiritual attributes and healing effects on the psyche. The flower essence is a potent catalyst to move you through blockages and obstacles, effectively resolving traumatic emotional memory that may be interfering with living bolding from one’s authentic core. Immortelle is said to have an ability to access and gently clear (often through dreamtime) the places within us that are emotionally damaged and wounded. My latest batch of Helichrysum flower essence (that I call by its alternative name Immortelle) was made on the footsteps of recent Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse of July 16th  2019. I was intuitively drawn to make the essence in the blue tinted crystal bowl and added beneficial effects of this important healing color to the preparation. This spiritual color is also the color of the sky and sea and is linked with calm and serenity. Blue is relaxing for the mind and body. It is associated with organs like eyes, ears and nose and involved with the senses of smell, sight and sound.

Helichrysum was leading and lighting my way through healing the wounded inner child for years. There were times that I couldn’t live without it, having it in my pocket 24/7 to sooth the pain of betrayal, heart break and loneliness. It was pulling me up, through the suffering and disappointment into the stronger, wiser, trusting version of myself. Not surprising that I included Helichrysum into my most heart healing aromatic formulas: Maitri and Release.

My dear friend Alice Duvernell, founder of Biophilia Botanicals grows Helichrysum on organic farm in Cotati, right in the heart of Sonoma county. We recently harvested and distilled the home grown Helichrysum flowers into a divine botanical water/distillate  – a fantastic facial and body spray, or a healthful addition to your skin care formulations. I include the Helichrysum distillate in my Golden Dew regenerative night serum for its tremendous antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, ability to reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles while treating and preventing the sun damage. Helichrysum botanical distillate (also known as hydrosol) tighten the gumline and stops the gum bleeding, which makes it an incredible ingredient for mouth wash or teeth and gum tonic.

I started taking the essence immediately after I preserved it and within 10 days experienced profound healing effect on my wounded inner child, vivid dreaming with increased symbolism, childhood memories and pain rising to the surface for healing, sudden expansion of my childhood memories that were block from me for decades and increased psychic abilities.

Immortelle flower essence opens the doors of perception, allowing us to see ourselves and our lives in a new, fresh way, greatly enhancing creative flow. It can be used to strengthen the will, motivate and inspire.
